The Tricycle of Astoundingly Nimble Knees
« on: December 01, 2009, 04:47:42 PM »
If you read the TF2 Forums on Steam, you've probably seen my idea already, but here it is for those who haven't.

The Tricycle of Astoundingly Nimble Knees (or T.A.N.K.) is an unlock for the Heavy I made up. It goes in his melee slot, and it deals the same damage as the fists, but swings even slower than the KGB.

However, when Secondary Fire is pressed, the Heavy hops onto his tricycle (1 second animation), the view switches to third person, and he now moves at Medic speed.

When Secondary Fire is pressed again, he hops off his tricycle (1 second animation), the view returns to first person, and he is now holding the tricycle like a weapon again.

While riding the T.A.N.K., if the Heavy receives at least 75 damage in one hit, he will fall off of the tricycle and immediately brandish it as a melee weapon. Airblasts affect him while riding, but do not knock him off the trike.

While riding, the Primary Fire will ring a bell on the handlebars, and sometimes the Heavy will say his line, "Run! I'm coming for you!"

If you run into an enemy with the T.A.N.K., the enemy will take 25 damage.

The original topic can be found here.

What do you guys think?

That's pretty hilarious! I could just about see it in game too... TF2 is just that nutty!

That's actually a really intriguing idea...  I wonder how that would balance out though, because then the heavy would be able to get places quicker than the demo and the solder when traveling a distance, like on goldrush or dustbowl.

Jeez I need to get on more.

I got a guy named JohannV doing stuff for the contribution page.

He's got the model and two animations done.

It's in the Steam Forums Heavy sub-forum.

That's looking good. The starting concept left me a bit cold, but seeing it animated, it actually fits in with TF2's silliness pretty well.

I really want to try out the specs in-game, because I knew visually it would work, but balance-wise I'm not sure at all.

Luckily the guy working on the plugin apparently finished it. He hasn't posted anything in the topic though.
