The revivial of the CSS server.

I think that dropping a couple of maps from the rotation and adding a few others may be a good idea. A bit more focus on the DE, a little less on the CS maps. Cal rotation is never a bad idea. However, at that point it can begin to become a very competitive level of gameplay, and sometimes, we just wanna have fun.
The idea of dust2 24-7 can and will get old quickly. However, you could always make it so the server stay on Dust2 until there are enough people in it to have a vote for the next map. Usually, if most of the people vote for the next map, they're going to stay to play it. And then when the server empties, it will go back to Dust2 to attract people.
16k is never a bad idea. People love money. A lot of people feel that it keeps the server fair. I rather a gree with it. Yes, earning the money to buy your guns should truly be earned, but now that the new CAL config for Source gives an automatic 16k and there is no more pistol round, most people want it to be like that in their pubs as well. I agree in it making the game more fair. Everyone can get the gun they prefer using, and so therefore, the competition is on. If you suck with a pistol, you don't have to worry about absolutely dying the first round, every map.

Just some ideas. I am more than willing to help get the population rolling in the Lethal server. I have gotten people into it like three times in the last two days. But, I need some help, too.

Thanks for the suggestions. Always good to hear from the community that plays on our servers. A little back history for ya on the CSS server.

We used to have a completely full server 24/7 until our old hosting company switched IP addresses without telling us and the server died completely. Since then we have been struggling to get the server back to what it was. Since August of this year we have slowly been getting the server back to its roots. If you want to see how the server has been performing check this.

Long story short, we have a large assortment of maps on the server. We should switch up rotation every now and then and we are planning on doing that soon. I think we should def try and get the communities opinion and post a poll on what maps to add to the rotation. We have to be careful because some maps are very one-sided, and because of the level of player skill we draw to the server, this would be bad. As stated though we are always open to suggestions.

As for the money issue. We have had numerous requests from players to "have money". We have always felt as a clan that this type of thing is earned. I am however for a night or weekend where we run something like a "start with 16k" night, thing, what have you. Would be like a fun gaming night where we play custom maps and allow people to have all the money you can stick in your ears each map. Would make for a fun night IMO.

All and all thanks for the suggestions. Because we do not publicly talk about these types of things the community usually doesn't know we are discussing them. We have been talking about this topic this weekend and rest assured, some changes will be taking place over the week. Thanks again for the post man.

I hate an all de_ * rotation
Might as well take 16k and 24/7 de_dust2 off the table.

I would like to attract and/or recruit people who like a few cs_maps, like pistol rounds.
Why would I create a server that I would get bored with and consequently not play in?

Right now CS:S is having a low activity time, new games coming out or have already arrived.
I noticed some servers I have played on were constantly full are no longer that way.

A constant factor remains, active people fill servers more consistently than anything else.
No disrespect and we appreciate your concern and willingness to help, we have tried all the suggestions you mentioned at one time or another, and it always comes back to the more Lethal members participate in the filling of the server the better it does.
