Unexplained, unwarranted ban
« on: August 18, 2008, 09:57:44 PM »
If you have been banned, please provide the following:

Handle
Steam ID - NK|| Kdee
Server(s)Team - Lethal Tf2 Chicago Server
Approximate date, time, map of ban -  1:51 Am, August 19th, 2008, DustBowl
Events leading up to your ban, including admins present and any other information

Admins on at the time were Shewolf and Bishop.  I think this is a clear case of admin abuse, Im an above average sniper who was playing on your server at the time.  My team was winning by a large amount and I had the highest score on the server at the time, by over 50 points.  Around midway through dust, both admins went spec so I assumed that they went to spec me as this happens a lot and then by the end of dustbowl, second map I was banned.  No reason nor warning was given, no proof or detection given.  Im ranked around 1,145 Globally and is a career sniper.  I'd like an explanation as to why I was banned so hastily.  I've only been banned on one other server, Team Funcom and it was by a volunteer admin, but the situation was cleared with the head admin who unbanned me.  Im a regular on House of Pies and Elite Mercs, which are both admin servers.  I remember at least one opposite player who said he didnt believe I was hacking, Leek i believe was his name

Hey Kdee, I apologize for the inconvenience one of our senior members will have a look into the situation as soon as they are able.  Keep an eye on the forum and thanks for posting.

Please don't see it as admin abuse when it might've just been a misunderstandi ng. Lethal is a mature clan and no one abuses their admin.

I wasn't in game but i was in vent when all this happened.  A couple of our admins and a few other players (not sure if they were regulars) were pretty sure he was hacking.  Therefore, appropriate steps were taken.  The admins who were in game at the time should be able to give details on the events that happened.

I'll give a quick rundown.

We were in vent wondering as we never saw anything other than headshot kills. I went spec first, and he's shoot, headshot, seemed to get to the scope again pretty fast then invariably get another. He would move a bunch then scope just long enough to headshot and move again. There was no time for the meter to fill a lot of times.

So I admitted that I wasn't sure, but it did look like it to me. Another went spec (Bishop?) and agreed that it looked hinky. Resistance looked, but he didn't fully agree. I don't think Rattle checked.

It took a while because Bishop couldn't remember the admin command.

was not there but i do know good snipers move and scope in just enough to take down a target with a no charge can take out most targets.

And that's exactly how I scope, look around, find the target that's gonna affect our team most, kill them then get the rest in order of whose closest to me.  If he suspected I was hacking, he could of demo'd me while he was speccing me so that other admins outside of the game could see it.  But now that I know it was because they believed I was hacking, I'll move on.  Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I'm not a member or anything, but I was there so ill tell you my perspective.

I was on kdees team at the time, and i heard the others in vent complaining about how good he was... too good apparantly.  So i decided to watch him.   I admit, a couple of instances looked really really fishy... like a jerk of the camera to put the cursor DEAD ON to the center of the head and shot.  Almost computer like.  However it could have been lag so i watched a little more when I was dead.  After that round ended i went spec to watch, and it just looked like he was really good.  I admit only like, one time he didnt get a head shot when he got a kill, but he did miss a good number of times, and it did end up looking like just skill.

So I don't believe he was hacking, or at least he turned them off after that round :P

I was there as well, however, I didn't spec him. There were many complaints and at least one person on HIS team stating that they had their doubts about him as well.

That said, he should have been told why he was being kicked, and I had thought he was. If he's legit, I don't mind highly skilled players playing. But it was very questionable.

For the record, Kdee, all Lethal members have some level of admin (except for recruits with the -R tag). The decision to kick you wasn't made lightly, for what it's worth.

I wasn't the one who pulled the trigger, I think that was Bishop, but I did concur with him that it seemed like you were hacking.

I said he wasn't hacking and me and bishop argued over it...above average was an understatement and if demos had to aim and could be considered hackers i woulda been banned a long time ago...lolz
